My name is Matthew Grubisich and my emphasis in design here at San Francisco State University is Visual Communications. I have always known myself to be a hands-on, visual person so falling into this field was a beautiful thing. Things always catch my eye when I'm going about my day and that, to me, was a key indicator towards what I knew I'd enjoy professionally. I'm inspired by culture and people who are creative. The one thing my dad would stress to me and my siblings was, "surround yourself with people you can learn from". Now that I'm older, I realize how much you can grow from that piece of advice.
I hope to become an established designer in the industry, not so much a specific area of it. I'd like to do work in the automotive industry, advertising, extreme sports, for non-profits and to have a respectable portfolio of personal work in various mediums.
